The shortcomings of the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line was thoroughly exposed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their matchup in the Super Bowl LV. Patrick Mahomes and Co. have since acknowledged that this was perhaps their biggest Achilles heel last season, and they are now making sure that they come to the new season more prepared.

Kansas City carried on with their structural revamping in the NFL Draft by adding yet another offensive linesman in Creed Humphrey in the second round. For his part, Mahomes appeared to be pleased with how the Chiefs have carried out their business in the offseason–and this latest development brought a smile to his face (at least virtually):

The Chiefs selected Humphrey in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft following a memorable career at Oklahoma. The 21-year-old emerged as one of the top OL's in the nation following back-to-back selections as a Big 12 offensive lineman in 2019 and 2020. He joins the likes of Orlando Brown Jr., Joe Thuney, Austin Blythe and Kyle Long in what is looking like a really strong offensive line for Kansas City this 2021.

Patrick Mahomes appears to have gotten the protection he needs so badly, and this can only be a good thing for both the former Super Bowl MVP and the entire Chiefs nation. Their 2020 campaign ultimately ended in disappointment and it is clear that they are going to for it again this coming season.

With the way things have been shaping up in the offseason, it looks like we're in store for an epic Chiefs campaign ahead.
