Patrick Mahomes has grand plans for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 NFL season. Well, it's not just grand but also a historic one. Speaking from Hawaii, where he's hosting the 15 and the Mahomies “Aloha Golf Classic,” Mahomes bared his intent for the Chiefs to shatter the NFL record for the best single-season overall record.

Via Bleacher Report:

“The only record I have my eyes set on breaking would be going 20 and 0. It's not really a record to be broken I guess, but I think 19-0 is the record I know, so being able to go 20 and 0 and to be the first one to do that would be awesome.”

Going undefeated for an entire season — from the regular season to Super Bowl — would be the best rebound for a team that just lost in the Super Bowl back in February.

The 2007 New England Patriots were the last team to finish a regular season without even a single loss, but even that team lost in the Super Bowl against Eli Manning and the New York Giants.

The only perfect team in the NFL during the Super Bowl era were the 1972 Miami Dolphins, which went 14-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs.

With an added game to the schedule in the regular season, beginning in 2021, it's possible for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to pull off that 20-0 feat. Needless to say, that's going to be easier said than done, but if there's a team in the upcoming 2021 NFL campaign that could achieve that crazy goal, the Chiefs definitely are a top choice.
