Patrick Mahomes is on top of the NFL world after putting together an amazing first season as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. The team decided to trade Alex Smith last offseason after letting Mahomes sit behind the veteran quarterback during his rookie season.

Now, Mahomes is the reigning NFL MVP and is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Due to his newly-found fame, Mahomes will be asked for his opinion during the 2019 NFL Draft. ABC will be bringing him in as a special guest for draft coverage, according to a statement from ESPN.

“Patrick Mahomes will be among the many special guests who will be part of ABC’s first-ever prime time broadcasts of the NFL Draft. The MVP and one of the biggest stars in football today, our viewers will enjoy hearing about his personal draft experience and what it’s like for the players going through the draft process.”

The 2019 NFL Draft has a ton of depth and there are quite a few players in the draft class who are expected to become superstars. Mahomes will also be able to comment on quarterbacks like Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, Will Grier, and Daniel Jones.

Last season with the Chiefs, Mahomes put together huge numbers. He completed 66.0 percent of his passes for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Those numbers easily won him the MVP award.

At 23 years old, the future could not be brighter for Mahomes and the Chiefs. It will be interesting to hear his perspective on the draft and the quarterback prospects.
