Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Roy Miller has been arrested on battery charges.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Corrections, via ESPN, Miller was booked into the Duval County Jail at 4:53 a.m. ET earlier this week. He was later released on his own recognizance after an initial court appearance, according to multiple reports.

This is clearly not the end of this story. However, at least legally speaking, Roy Miller won't have to face a courtroom again until November 28.

“This morning we were informed about an incident involving one of our players, Roy Miller,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We are still in the process of gathering details on the situation. We will have no further comment at this time.”

For those unaware why Miller was in Jacksonville, since he plays for Kansas City, it is worth noting he started his National Football League career with the Jaguars.

As for the implications it might have for the Chiefs and Miller's potential availability, Kansas City actually has a bye-week this weekend. While whatever this means in terms of football is the least important aspect of any of this, the franchise will have plenty of time to do its diligence in finding out if Roy Miller should be withheld from any team related activities or games moving forward.

According to reports currently available, the injuries suffered during the incident are said to be minor in nature. However, I doubt the alleged victim feels like anything Miller did was minor in any form.
