The Sunday clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions isn't only significant due to the unbeaten streaks the two sides are trying to maintain. However, it's also significant as this is Patrick Mahomes' first dome game in his NFL career.

Fans are already excited to see what the reigning MVP can do inside a dome. After all, he's already such a force to be reckoned with at open-air stadiums. However, the young QB is not treating this upcoming game at Ford Field any differently.

Per Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star:

“We practice inside and I’ve played a few games inside before and we played the preseason last year inside,” Mahomes said. “So, you just prepare like it’s any other football game. I think that’s how you do regardless if you’re in a dome and it’s snowing or raining — you just kind of make sure that you’re ready to have success whatever the elements or circumstances are.”

What the 24-year-old Chiefs signal-caller is saying is correct. He has played three games at stadiums and his numbers are incredible. He's gotten at least 370 passing yards and three touchdowns in every game this season.

If there's anything that the dome can change, it's that it will help him get to the similar numbers he posted a bit easier. Mahomes is easy to cheer for with his supreme athletic and passing abilities.

Moreover, he's now the latest member of the Madden 99 Club, being rated 99 overall by EA Sports immediately after dominating opponents this season.

We can expect more video game-like numbers from Mahomes as he tries to bring the W to his team against a strong Detroit side.
