The Baltimore Ravens officially announced that they had released safety Eric Weddle on Wednesday, and not too long after that news hit the press, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill was already recruiting him.

Weddle is coming off of his third straight Pro Bowl appearance, as he finished with 68 tackles and a sack this past season.

The 34-year-old joined the Ravens in free agency back in March 2016. During his first season with the team, he racked up 89 tackles, a sack, four interceptions, a forced fumble, and 13 passes defended. Then, in 2017, Weddle totaled 63 stops, a sack, six interceptions, a pair of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, eight passes defended, and a defensive touchdown.

Weddle, who played his collegiate football at the University of Utah, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (37th pick overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

He went on to play the first nine seasons of his career with the Chargers, making three Pro Bowl appearances and earning a couple of First-Team All-Pro selections.

As for Hill? He had a monster year in 2018, hauling in 87 receptions for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also scored a rushing touchdown while punching in a kick return score.

The Chiefs won 12 games this past season and earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC. They made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game before falling to the New England Patriots.

Given that Kansas City could certainly use some help defensively, Weddle would unquestionably be a great addition.
