Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Beinemy could be a candidate for the Colorado Buffaloes head coaching job, according to Pro Football Talk.

According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Mel Tucker will be leaving Colorado to take the Michigan State Spartans head coach job. Tucker had turned down the job earlier in the week, but they finally gave him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Bienemy is an alumnus of the Colorado Buffalos, so it would make a lot of sense for the university to try and bring him in, but the big question is would he jump at the opportunity?

He was a standout during his time with the Buffaloes rushing for 3.940 yards and 42 touchdowns. He still holds the school record in both of those areas.

Bienemy was a top candidate for many coaching jobs this offseason, but no one ended up pulling the trigger on him. Many believe he will be a top candidate next offseason too, but will he be patient and wait for his opportunity in the NFL, or make the jump to the college ranks?

It's a bit hard to imagine Bienemy would leave, especially with what is happening with the Chiefs after a Super Bowl victory. One big factor could be how close Andy Reid is to stepping away.

Many believe once he retires, Bienemy could take over, so if he is close to retiring, it might make sense for him to stick around so he can be the next head coach of the Chiefs.
