Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers doesn't think the franchise “could’ve picked two better people” than Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to add to the roster.

The Clippers signed Leonard in free agency and acquired George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a blockbuster trade.

Both Leonard and George are elite two-way players in the NBA. The Clippers, while they have good depth, will ultimately go as far as Leonard and George take them this season.

Last season with the Toronto Raptors, Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the regular season. He guided the Raptors to the championship over the Golden State Warriors in six games and won his second Finals MVP.

George, meanwhile, put up 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season in OKC while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, 38.6 percent from the 3-point line and 83.9 percent from the charity stripe. The six-time All-Star underwent surgery to his right rotator cuff and left labrum after the 2019 playoffs ended.

George is expected to be back sometime between late October and late November for the Clippers. LA will be cautious with George since there are 82 games in the regular season. It’s not that big of a deal if George misses a few games here and there.
