It's official. Former NBA Defensive Player of the Year winner Joakim Noah has put pen to paper on a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers for the rest of the season.

As it turns out, the contract even includes an option for an extension for next season:

Noah initially signed a 10-day deal with the Clippers on March 9, but was unable to make his debut for the team due to the hiatus. He has since been working out with the team, and obviously, he has done enough to prove he deserves a spot on the roster the rest of the way. The changes in how the remainder of the season will be played out worked in the favor of Noah, with teams now being allowed to expand their rosters for the Florida bubble.

The last we saw the 6-foot-11 big man in the league was during the 2018-19 campaign. Noah played 42 games for the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 16.5 minutes per contest.

This is not the first time we've heard of the Clippers' intention to keep Noah on board. The new development here is that the team is now seriously considering keeping him on beyond the current campaign. At 35, the former two-time All-Star is no spring chicken, but as it turns out, the Clippers believe that he still brings a considerable amount of value for their side.

Needless to say, how Noah performs for the remainder of the season will have a significant effect on the team's decision to extend his deal for next season.
