Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard says he and Paul George are “still trying to build our chemistry.”

Leonard and George became the first teammates in Clippers history to each score 40 points in the same game during their 124-117 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

George finished with 46 points, while Leonard added 42:

“It's great to have somebody else out there help scoring the ball, making the game easier for myself,” Leonard said, via ESPN. “We are still trying to build our chemistry out there. We didn't close that third quarter too great. We still got to improve.

“[But] I didn't think that coming into the season. We just want to win a basketball game. If it's me having 10 and him having 40 or vice-versa, or Lou Will is going or Trezz [Montrezl Harrell] or somebody else having a great game, that is what I envision. I just want to envision winning games.”

The Clippers are 20-7 on the season. They have the second-best record in the Western Conference, behind the 23-3 Los Angeles Lakers.

Leonard is averaging 25.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists on the season in 20 games. George, meanwhile, is putting up 24.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 16 games.

With Kawhi and PG-13 leading the way, the Clippers have a great shot at winning the title this season. They will likely have to go through the Lakers to win the West first.
