Former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins says don't be surprised if Kevin Durant leaves the Golden State Warriors this summer and signs with the Los Angeles Clippers instead of the Lakers.

The Clippers have cap space this offseason to sign two max contract players. Perkins, who played with Durant on the Oklahoma City Thunder, says KD likes Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.

The Clippers made the playoffs this season without having a single All-Star on the roster. They took Durant and the Warriors to six games in the first round of the 2019 playoffs. Many believe if the Clips can get a star player this summer, they would become contenders next season.

The Clippers have been heavily linked to Toronto Raptors All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard, who is from the California area and becomes a free agent this offseason once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Raptors. Since Los Angeles has two max slots, there's a chance both Leonard and Durant could sign with the Clippers. The logo himself, Jerry West, will be in free agent meetings this summer, too. That's a huge advantage for the Clips.

This summer is going to be wild in terms of free agency. There are so many All-Stars who are entering the open market.
