The Dallas Mavericks will face off with the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. While the higher-seeded team has always been the favorite to win, Lou Williams and Doc Rivers believe that it's going to be a tough matchup nevertheless.

For Rivers, he pointed out that the Mavs have two of the best young stars in the league. And this fact alone will make their first-round duel difficult.

Williams, for his part, singled-out Luka Doncic as the one who'll be giving them headaches. He also noted that the Mavs are a well-coached team. Given these elements, it'll be a fun and entertaining series.

The two teams met thrice in the regular season, all games belonged to the powerhouse Clippers squad. But NBA players know that playoff basketball is vastly different from regular season ball.

Doncic, for his part, is aware that they're the underdogs in the series. The Slovenian respects the Clippers' talent but still believes that his team has a shot.

“We’ve always got chances,” Doncic said after last week’s loss to the Clippers, when asked about the potential of meeting them in the playoffs. “They’re a great team, but we’ve always got chances, no matter what.

“Some people will count us out, but we’re not out. I think we have chances, so we’ll give our max.”

It'll be the playoff debut for both Porzingis and Doncic which will definitely be a treat for Mavs fans. Meanwhile, this is the Clippers' time to prove why experts have been tagging them as legitimate title contenders all season long.
