Veteran forward Marcus Morris sounds ecstatic about joining the Los Angeles Clippers.

In a recent interview with Fox Sports sideline reporter Kristina Pink, Morris expressed that he's excited to help the Clippers in any way he can.

“I'm just doing what I can, you know we got guys that are extremely talented offensively and defensively and I just think I add to that,” Morris said on his role with the Clippers.

“Just the aspect of using my IQ and making the game easier for these guys and giving them space. I'm not trying to average 19 points per game as I did with the Knicks, I'm just here to fill a role and help them out by bringing that dog mentality I have with me.”

In the same interview, Morris also spoke out about his impressions about the Clippers organization.

“I mean obviously the staff is great and the guys on the staff have been around a long time with Doc and Steve,” he added. “So I'm just excited about that, I think it's a great fit , and summertime we couldn't make it happen. But you know we just had to wait a little bit longer.”

The Clippers were hoping to sign Morris this past offseason, however, it never happened. Nonetheless, they were able to trade for him just before the NBA trade deadline

In 43 games with the New York Knicks, Morris averaged 19.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 32.3 minutes. The 30-year-old is also shooting an astonishing 43 percent from 3-point range.

The Clippers are currently the second seed in the Western Conference with a 36-15 record. While the Los Angeles Lakers are ahead of them, it is worth noting that they have beat them in their two meetings so far this 2019-20.

Moreover, with the Marcus Morris acquisition, fans and experts alike expect them to be the front-runner to win the NBA Championship in June.
