Golden State Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown made a “strong impression” on the Los Angeles Clippers during his interview, per Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The Clippers, who parted ways with Doc Rivers after the 2020 playoffs ended at Walt Disney World, have been linked to Brown, Tyronn Lue and Sam Cassell.

The Clippers had the second-best record in the Western Conference during the 2019-20 regular season. However, they blew a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the postseason in Orlando, Florida.
Mike Brown has coached the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers in the past. He has a regular-season mark of 347-216 and a playoff record of 47-36. Brown won the 2009 Coach of the Year award with the Cavs during LeBron James' first stint in Cleveland.
The Clippers' roster is headlined by All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Both players played well in their first season as teammates. However, Leonard and George each failed to score a single point in the fourth quarter of Game 7 against the Nuggets, raising concerns if they can really work together to lead the Clippers to a title.
It's going to be very interesting to see who the Clippers hire as Rivers' replacement. The team is under immense pressure to win the championship next season since both Leonard and George can become unrestricted free agents in the offseason of 2021 if they decline their player options for the 2021-22 campaign.
