The L.A. Clippers have been without Patrick Beverley for the vast majority of the season.

He played 11 games before he started to miss games due to a knee injury. Soon after, it was announced that Beverley needed knee surgery and he would be out for the remainder of the season.

Beverley came to the Clippers via the trade that sent Chris Paul and others to the Houston Rockets. His defense and veteran leadership was supposed to be the biggest plus that be would bring the Clippers.

Beverley has been rehabbing his injury for months. On Wednesday, he visited the doctor and apparently received some good news, per his official Twitter account.

Obviously this is quite a suspenseful tweet, and it's meant to be so. Also, it's possible that Beverley may have overplayed the suspense by having four sets of those eye emojis.

Anything that can be gleaned from this update is pure speculation, but what the heck? Let's dive in!

Had Beverley said the doctor just had “good” news, this tweet would not be such a big deal. But the news is said to be “amazing.” That can only mean one thing: Beverley can heal himself.

Or, it's possible that he is healing faster than originally thought. Beverley was ruled out for the season back in November following an arthroscopic lateral meniscus repair and a microfracture procedure on his right knee. In early January, head coach Doc Rivers reiterated that Beverley would not return this season, but could it be possible that he could come back? The Clippers are currently in the playoffs, so perhaps that means Beverley could try and push for an appearance.

Beverley had been dealing with knee pain since the preseason and was only able to participate in 11 games for the Clippers this season. However, in those 11 games, Beverley averaged a career-high 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.2 three-pointers per game on 40.3 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc.
