Steve Ballmer is a walking ball of energy. The Los Angeles Clippers owner is already gearing up for free agency next season. The Clippers will have a lot of money to spend and they are clearly angling for a superstar. When Howard Beck of Bleacher Report asked Ballmer about his potential pitch for free agents, Ballmer didn't hesitate to make it.

“You wanna have a legacy?” Steve Ballmer asked Beck. “You wanna really say you were involved in doing something super special? You come here. You be in L.A., the greatest market in the world, and you show people: ‘I'm the guy! I went to a franchise who'd never been there! I'm the guy! I made it happen! I get a legacy!'”

There are a few potential free agents that come to mind when you hear the word “legacy.” Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson come to mind immediately. Klay has always played a supporting role to Stephen Curry. Many wonder what he could do as the number one option on a team and he would still be able to stay on the West Coast.

For Durant, he will never get full credit for his championships in Golden State. Even if he wins a third straight Finals MVP this season, many will put an asterisk on those achievements since he joined an already dominant Warriors team.

This could be a strong selling point for either Durant, Thompson, or potentially another free agent like Kawhi Leonard or DeMarcus Cousins looking to rehabilitate their legacy.
