Indianapolis Colts All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard returned to practice on Friday, but he won't play in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. According to the Colts injury report, Leonard is out with a concussion.

Leonard joins four others as those who won't play: rookie wide receiver Parris Campbell (abdominal), safety Clayton Geathers (concussion), safety Malik Hooker (knee) and defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis (ankle).

Leonard was limited in practice, but he did not clear concussion protocol, according to coach Frank Reich. He will miss his third straight game, as he began feeling concussion symptoms after the Colts' Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Since Leonard's injury, the Colts have shifted MIKE linebacker Anthony Wheeler to the WILL position. Rookie Bobby Okereke will continue to play at the MIKE spot, with fellow rookie E.J. Speed seeing snaps at the SAM position.

For the season, Leonard has tallied 18 combined tackles, a sack, a pass deflection, and a quarterback hit — all in two games of play. The 2018 Defensive Rookie of the Year and first-team All-Pro, Leonard is a leader for the Indianapolis defense.

In 2018, Leonard tallied a league-leading 163 combined tackles to go along with 12 tackles for loss, eight quarterback hits, eight pass deflections, four forced fumbles, two fumbles recovered, two interceptions, and 7.0 sacks.

With Leonard out, the Colts will continue to rely on their rookie-laden linebacking corps. Indianapolis is hoping that the group can step up as the 4-0 Chiefs present a tough task for the unit. The Colts are 2-2, as is the rest of the AFC South.
