The Indianapolis Colts were obviously without former franchise quarterback Andrew Luck on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, the Colts did manage to take the Chargers to overtime after mounting a significant comeback in the second, one that was powered by the legs of running back Marlon Mack.

Despite the absence of Luck, who infamously retired a few weeks before Week 1 of the 2019-20 regular season, the Colts played reasonably well on Sunday before coming up just shy against the Chargers in overtime. With Mack leading the offense alongside new starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett, the prolific rusher's day was highlighted by a massive 63-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter.

Mack's more than 60-yard scamper notably began the comeback for the Colts as Indianapolis forced overtime at 24-24 despite initially being down 24-9 on the road against a solid Chargers team.

The 23-year-old Mack is currently in the midst of his third NFL season, all of which have come as a member of the Colts. The Colts originally selected Mack in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of South Florida. Starting his third NFL campaign off on the right foot against the Chargers, who sport a legitimate defense, Mack rushed for 174 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries in Los Angeles. He also helped the Colts convert a two-point conversation as regulation wound down, which led the game to overtime as well.

Mack rushed for just over of 900 yards last season while appearing in 12 regular-season games for the playoff-bound Colts.
