Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has sat out the last three weeks because of irritation to his plantar fascia but he is trying to downplay the injury. Cooper told Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan that he doesn't think it's going to be something that will linger into the regular season, but if it does it's something he is used to playing with.

“Real effective,” Cooper said. “I've played with a lot of foot injuries, high-ankle sprains, but I don't think I'm going to have to play with it. I’m not really worried.”

Cooper was quick to point out that he dealt with something similar his rookie season with the Oakland Raiders and he was still able to haul in 72 receptions for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns. Cooper said that the injury right now really isn't that bad and hinted that if the season regular season was tomorrow he would be ready to play.

“It’s not really that bad, especially just walking around,” says Cooper “But to do the things that I do on the field … obviously I’m cutting really hard, I’m stopping really hard.”

Coach Jason Garrett told Fisher that Cooper could start practicing next week which would point towards him being ready for week one.

Cooper has been getting a lot of treatment and doing everything in his power to make sure he is ready sooner than later.

“Of course I feel like I’m missing things because I’m missing practice,” Cooper says. “But I’m able to keep up mentally. … Just do a lot of stretching, a lot of treatment. … I'm not worried.”
