The Dallas Cowboys had themselves a disastrous 2022 offseason. After an embarrassing appearance in the Wild Card round, the team lost a couple of key contributors on both sides of the ball. In particular, the team saw the departure of Amari Cooper, as he was traded to the Browns.

Because of that trade, talks have been circulating about who will replace Cooper as the premier wide receiver of the Cowboys. The general consensus seems to be that CeeDee Lamb will take over as the WR1 of the team. When asked about this change, the Browns wide-out had this to say. (via Michael Gehlken)

“CeeDee's been ready. [laughs] CeeDee's been ready. Again, it's just about opportunity. I think if Kellen (Moore) decides to feature him, he's definitely ready to step up. CeeDee is a playmaker.”

Last season, Lamb and Cooper were one the most deadly wide receiving duos in the league. The Cowboys greatly benefitted from both players' talents, whether it was Cooper's reliable hands or Lamb's insane speed. Both players could be considered WR1s in any other team.

Now, the Cowboys are looking to regroup and find their footing after losing their star receiver. The hope is that Lamb and a returning Michael Gallup would be enough to carry them to victory next season.

To make matters worse for the Cowboys, one of their fiercest division rivals made a massive trade in the offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles traded for star receiver AJ Brown, bolstering an offense that looks to break out as the top contender. If they aren't careful, Dallas could find themselves fighting for a Wild Card spot instead of the top spot.
