The Dallas Cowboys have further solidified their defensive front, agreeing to a contract extension with newly-reinstated pass rusher Randy Gregory. According to a Tuesday evening report from Todd Archer of ESPN, the Cowboys have inked Gregory to a contract extension that will keep him in Dallas through the 2021 campaign.

Archer also made a point to note that Gregory has garnered a $200,000 signing bonus alongside earning the potential to make as much as $2.1 million in total next season. For reference, Gregory is currently slated to earn a base salary of $825,000 in 2020.

Gregory has not made an appearance for the Cowboys since back in Week 17 of the 2018 campaign while also missing the entirety of last season while serving yet another suspension. The NFL is now allowing Gregory to participate in a few activities and meetings as he was just conditionally reinstated by the league earlier this month.

Perhaps most notably, Gregory can start practicing with the Cowboys during the week of October 5 and can become eligible to play in a regulation game on October 25, which would be against the rival Washington Football Team. Most recently, the NFL was forced to suspend Gregory for a fourth time as he violated the league's substance abuse policy and the terms of his conditional reinstatement stemming from a previous suspension.

The Cowboys are expected to win the NFC East Division in 2020.
