The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will once again start their season off by playing against each other, with the intense NFC East rivalry given a primetime slot in the afternoon during Week 1.

While both teams aren’t fully finished forming, the Cowboys have already opened as big favorites.

According to Bet Online.ag, the Cowboys have opened up as 7.5 point favorites over the Giants, although that number has dropped down to 7 points as of this writing.

Despite the slight drop, that is still one of the highest favorites of the week, and a bit surprising given how closely these two teams often play each other.

Coming into the season with Super Bowl aspirations, the Dallas Cowboys had a great 2018 season, rolling into the playoffs and even taking down the Seattle Seahawks before losing to the eventual NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams.

For the Giants, they’ll look to finally make it above .500 for the first time in a few seasons, but it will be even harder with an older Eli Manning and a team that is now without superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

While the Cowboys may be favorites now, both teams are far from finished in terms of roster building. With the NFL Draft fast approaching, it’s anyone's guess as to what the Giants will do with their sixth overall pick.

Should they take a quarterback, the team might be ready to contend much faster than we think, especially with standout running back Saquon Barkley ready to carry the load.
