The Dallas Cowboys suffered a devastating blow to their playoff hopes with their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16. Although they have already taken plenty of flak for losing con tool of their own playoff destiny, it appears they have not been eliminated just yet.

According to ESPN's Seth Walder, the Cowboys still have a 28 percent chance to win the NFC East.

This may come as a bit of a surprise since their showdown over the weekend had been billed as a winner take all in the division. Regardless, it seems Dallas could still find a way to squeak into the playoffs.

Of course, the Cowboys will first need to take care of business again the Washington Redskins. While it is certainly a favorable matchup, it is safe to say that the Redskins are not going to give their rivals any freebies in the 2019 NFL season finale. Meanwhile, the New York Giants must find a way to beat the Eagles at home in Week 17.

There is no question that Dallas has fallen vastly short of expectations this season at 7-8 despite boasting one of the most talented rosters in the entire league. As a result, there will be plenty of questions to answer if Philadelphia effectively sends them into the offseason with a win. For now, they will be holding out hope that New York opts to go out with a bang.
