The Dallas Cowboys are continuing their retooling in order to make the playoffs. They did just that by acquiring Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in a one-year deal that will surely make him a hit among Dallas fans.

NFL Updates posted the details of the acquisition, and it's not hard to say that Dallas' front office definitely did a great job in pulling off one of the most prolific defenders in the entire NFL. While they haven't secured his services in the long term, his price tag more than makes up for it.

Clinton-Dix showed plenty of people last year why he was more than a perfect selection for the Cowboys. He manages to find ways to tackle his opponent, finishing 2019 with 78 tackles. He also made two fumble recoveries, five pass deflections, two interceptions, and one pick-six. He's a very capable defender who can step up to the plate if need be.

He is also versed in Mike McCarthy's system. If the new Dallas head coach wants to impress Jerry Jones immediately, he needs players who can help him teach his way of playing to the rest of the team. With his experience and degree of success under McCarthy's Green Bay Packers, he can definitely provide some much-needed help on the defensive side of the ball.

Finally, the wage bill the Cowboys will sustain on him is not that high. He is only owed $4 million this year, meaning that the Cowboys could use the financial flexibility they have to fill out the roster.

Clinton-Dix is a perfect fit for the Cowboys, and it's relatively low risk.
