The Dallas Cowboys fell short of their Super Bowl aspirations this past season, getting booted out in the Wild Card round against the San Francisco 49ers. Despite the team's failure to achieve its goals, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opted against replacing head coach Mike McCarthy, and managed to retain coordinators Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore after both failed to lock down head coaching opportunities elsewhere.

Former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson made an appearance on The Herd on Monday and had an eye-opening revelation on Jones, with whom he's had a rocky history.

Speaking on his former boss, Johnson said Jones “doesn't ever want to admit he's wrong” and that the Cowboys owner is “going to hang with whoever and try to make it work.”

Johnson was referencing Jones' decision to keep McCarthy, despite questions as to whether he is the right man for the job. In Johnson's eyes, Jones is sticking with McCarthy because of his stubborn nature and refusal to admit when he is wrong. Johnson didn't hold back when assessing Jones' decision-making, citing Jason Garrett's long tenure with the Cowboys, and the fact that Jones brought McCarthy back for Year 2.

Johnson is the most successful head coach in Cowboys history, having led the team to two Super Bowl victories during his five-year tenure. Upon being let go by the franchise, the relationship between him and Jones soured, with the two not even on talking terms for the better part of 20 years. While they've since hashed things out, that hasn't stopped Johnson from sounding off on his former boss.
