The Dallas Cowboys have won two straight to stay atop the NFC East, but that doesn't mean everything is going well for the franchise. In fact it's quite the opposite as Dak Prescott continues to struggle.

Prescott has been on the receiving end of major criticisms for his recent poor run of play, with some questioning his ability to lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. Hall of Fame coach Jimmy Johnson isn't going as far as to saying that Dak cannot win the title with Dallas, but he emphasized that he needs good players around him.

Johnson noted that Prescott is a really good leader, but for the Cowboys to truly compete, they also have to get the running back going and clicking.

“He can win you a championship if you've got really good players around him… You better get the running game back,” Johnson said, per The Herd With Colin Cowherd.

Dak Prescott has thrown for 20 touchdowns and just five touchdowns in his first eight games of the season, but he has been on a slump since then. In his last four outings for the Cowboys, he has only five TDs and has already thrown five interceptions.

In their recent win against the Washington Football Team, he made plenty of uncharacteristic mistakes, one of which put them in quite the trouble. With four minutes left in the fourth quarter, Cole Holcomb intercepted a Prescott pass and scored for the Pick-6. It cut Dallas' lead down to seven, 27-20.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, their defense held on and escaped with the W. Nonetheless, it is true that Prescott can't make the same mistake come the playoffs, especially when they are trying to compete for the Super Bowl title.

For his part, Prescott did admit he has to step up and be better. However, he emphasized that he “has no concerns” where they are right now as he is confident they have the players they need to succeed.

“We’ve created these high expectations and high standards and we have them for ourselves. Just as much as the outside world isn’t pleased, we’re not. I guarantee we care a whole lot more than the outside world about what we’re doing,” Prescott added.

The 28-year-old QB has proven he is a great game manager, but the common concern about him is his clutch gene and ability to step up when nothing is going right for the team. Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady has shown that time and time again, and fans are naturally hoping Dak Prescott can do the same.
