Dak Prescott has been vocal about his feelings about the protests during the National Anthem, believing that the field isn't the time or place for those type of protests. His feeling echoes the feelings of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones who has made it clear that if the players wanted to play for the team, they needed to be standing during the National Anthem.

TMZ caught up with former San Diego Chargers star LaDainian Tomlinson and asked him about Prescott's comments regarding the Star Spangled Banner. Tomlinson said he backs up Prescott, as long as he isn't being influenced by people above him in the organization.

“Dak has to be his own man,” Tomlinson said to TMZ. “Hopefully he's not influenced by ownership or anybody else. He has to be his own man.”

Tomlinson went on to say no matter what side of the anthem protest a player is on they are going to receive some backlash so he needs to make sure that he is being his own person and not just say what his owner wants to hear.

“You really gotta stand up for what you believe in at the end of the day,”

The NFL and NFLPA are still trying to work on an agreement for the National Anthem for this upcoming season and depending on what they decide the Cowboys could be put in some hot water. If the two agree that protesting during the National Anthem is allowed and the Cowboys still decide to release a player who kneels during the National Anthem the NFLPA could have a case against them.
