Micah Parsons established himself as a future superstar for the Dallas Cowboys. The 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-Pro nominee did everything for a strong Cowboys defense and wants to do it again. Even as teammates like DeMarcus Lawrence look to match his production, he is looking to raise his level.

Lawrence said that he let a rookie take the team lead in sacks on the team last season. Parsons made it clear that he did more than that. He told the Cowboys' veteran defensive end that he is never getting that lead back.

Parsons recorded 13.0 sacks in 16 games while Lawrence recorded just three in seven games. He has recorded a double-digit sack total in two prior seasons, most recently in 2018. Parsons loves the competitive energy that Lawrence's comment brings. He said that if Lawrence gets 10 sacks, he will go for 20.

The Cowboys will need another massive season from Parsons. They lost a ton of free agents, including defensive end Randy Gregory and key offensive players in both the offensive line and the wide receiver room, while the Philadelphia Eagles made several improvements. Their attempt to repeat as NFC East champion will be much tougher.

Dallas is fortunate to have Parsons. He placed second in Defensive Player of the Year voting and has all the internal motivation to improve his game and take home the hardware. With players like Lawrence, Trevon Diggs and Jayron Kearse still around, Dallas can still be a top-notch defensive unit.
