Over the last several seasons, one of the strengths for the Dallas Cowboys has been their play up front on the offensive line with arguably the best group of talent in the league. Among that unit is All-Pro guard Zack Martin, who has been a stabilizing factor for Dallas throughout his career.

However, there has been some uncertainty in terms of when a new deal will be worked out with the 27-year-old as he's in the fifth-year option of his rookie deal worth $9.3 million for the 2018 season. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Martin is nearing agreement on a new long-term extension with the Cowboys.

Martin has worked his way into the position of earning a new lucrative deal given what he has shown through his first four years in the league establishing himself as arguably the best offensive guard behind four straight Pro Bowl selections, two First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections. This has created no hesitation from the Cowboys to work out a huge contract for their star offensive lineman to keep him in place for the long haul.

The talk of a new extension had picked up over the last several days but that all looks to be headed toward it all being hammered out in the coming days. This will now have the Cowboys with all of their offensive line under multi-year deals as Pro Bowler left tackle Tyron Smith and center Travis Fredericks are both under contract through the 2023 season. Meanwhile, right tackle La'el Collins's deal doesn't expire until after the 2019 campaign.

This should not allow for the Cowboys to focus elsewhere now that their offensive line is under a long-term deal for the next several seasons. It simply takes care of some necessary business and avoids a possible distraction during this upcoming season.
