It has been just over a week since the Dallas Cowboys acquired former Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a 2019 first-round pick.

Since then, Cooper has been steadily picking up the new playbook ahead of his debut on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans. The Cowboys have continued to speak highly of the 24-year-old with offensive coordinator stating on Friday the team hasn't eased him into the fold rather that he has a strong learning curve, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

Wide receiver Amari Cooper went through two short practices before last week’s bye and two full practices this week since the trade from the Oakland Raiders. Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan confirmed Cooper will start Monday against the Tennessee Titans. “We’re not trying to ease him in,” said Linehan, who added Cooper has picked things up quickly.

The Cowboys have high hopes for Cooper for him to quickly step in as possibly their top receiving option in the passing game. Dallas has sorely lacked that aspect of their offense through the first eight weeks of the season that has seen rank 31st in passing and 26th with 20.0 points per game.

Cooper has shown previously in his career that he can be a huge factor in the passing game as he had posted back-to-back 1,000 receiving yard campaigns in his first two years in the league that earned him a pair of Pro Bowl selections. It has been a situation over the last two season where he has struggled with injuries and consistencies in performance on the field.

The change of scenery could be huge in helping him get back on the right track to performing like one of the best young wide receivers in the league. Cooper will get his first opportunity to do so with the spotlight on the Cowboys on Monday night.
