Current NXT Tag Team Champion Nash Carter (aka Zachary Wentz) of MSK gets released by WWE, less than a week after reclaiming the tag belts.

Two-time NXT Tag Team Champion Nash Carter, one-half of the tag team MSK, has just been reportedly released by WWE, says Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. This came just less than a week since the tag team, whose other half is Wes Lee, reclaimed the NXT Tag Belts at NXT: Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania Weekend.

Nash Carter broke out in WWE after he and Lee won the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classics Tournament. The team's athleticism and personality helped them gain a lot of momentum and become one of the top babyfaces in WWE's developmental brand. They would win their first title in NXT during TakeOver: Stand & Deliver on April 7, 2021. They would hold the title belts for 202 days before dropping them to Imperium, from whom they'd regain the belts less than five months later.

The team regained the belts at NXT: Stand & Deliver when they beat Imperium and The Creed Brothers in a Triple Threat Tag Team match. However, their new title reign would be short-lived when WWE released Nash Carter amidst domestic abuse allegations by his wife, Impact Wrestling's Kimber Lee.

The tag belts have since been vacated due to the inevitable splitting up of the tag team. Wes Lee's future remains uncertain, and we don't know yet if Wes Lee will continue on as a singles competitor, will be given a new tag partner, or will also be released by WWE. It would be a shame if he gets released, as Lee has high athleticism and charisma. He can break out as a singles star.

Meanwhile, MSK's rivals Imperium has just broken up in the April 5 episode of NXT, which means that only The Creed Brothers remain as top contenders for the tag belts in NXT.
