What a wonderful life it must be for billionaires. With multiple professional sports franchises going up for sale, it seems some rich people are dipping their hands into multiple leagues. At least that's the case for David Blitzer, as he's nearing a deal to buy the Cleveland Guardians, which would be his fifth US major sports franchise under his control. If the purchase goes through, then Blitzer becomes the Thanos of sports leagues.

According to Sportico, the billionaire already owns the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, and Real Salt Lake. That gives him one sports franchise in four of the five US major sports leagues. Now, with his latest move to potentially acquire the Guardians, David Blitzer is bound to collect the fifth stone for his Infinity Gauntlet.

Blitzer has his hands all over the sports world. In addition to the teams he owns in the USA, the billionaire businessman also owns six additional soccer teams across the globe, per Sportico. These are smart investments, especially considering how popular sports are. Maybe David Blitzer will slow down purchasing sports teams at some point. However, if he's anything like Thanos, he won't stop until he owns them all.

The deal to acquire the Cleveland Guardians is rather large. According to Sportico, the Guardians franchise is estimated to be worth $1.385 billion. That ranks Cleveland at 24th in the MLB. We'll see if he can pull off the deal, as he is just one purchase away from having ownership in all five US major sports leagues.

Keep an eye on David Blitzer, as a deal for the Guardians may come through at any moment.
