Cleveland Guardians ace Shane Bieber is back after a mediocre start to the 2022 season. The former AL Cy Young winner has pitched at least 6 innings in each of his previous four starts and has not surrendered more than 2 earned runs in any of those outings. He most recently posted a dominant 7 inning performance against the Orioles that saw him strike out 11 batters.

Shane Bieber, who had a no-hitter until the 6th inning, revealed how the thought of a no-hitter drives him in every outing.

“I’m thinking no-hitter from pitch one until I give one up. Anybody who tells you otherwise is lying.”

Many pitchers will tell you that they are not thinking about a no-hitter. But Bieber's truth bomb suggests otherwise. His mindset has helped him turn his season around. There is no question that the Guardians are a better team when Bieber and co-star Jose Ramirez are rolling.

He had an ERA of 4.13 on May 7th after a brutal 7 earned run effort against the Blue Jays. But Bieber's ERA has dropped all the way to 3.12 following his impressive last four starts.

The Guardians ace commented on the state of the team as well.

“I feel like each start we’re getting closer and closer to where we need to be. It feels good to feel for some things in the first two innings and then step on the gas a little bit. That’s what we were able to do tonight.”

The Guardians have now won four consecutive games and will look to keep playing well on Saturday against the Orioles.
