Blizzard's remake of Diablo 2: Resurrected finally has an exact release date. This year, players can return to Sanctuary with a new-and-improved engine and additional features. Diablo 2: Resurrected release date falls on September 23, 2021, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.

Playing Diablo 2: Resurrected on next-gen consoles will allow players to experience the hellish story with up to 4K resolution and 60FPS. What's more, the game will also feature 8-player coop. While at launch it might not have cross-platform progression, it will be implemented in the future, says Blizzard. All seven of the classes available in the original Diablo II and its expansion, Lord of Destruction, will be available to play at launch. Each class will have access to 30 unique skills each, giving each playthrough with a different class feel entirely different mechanically.

For the competitive, Diablo 2: Resurrected will revive the game's ranking leaderboards. Those who like raking up experience points will have fun competing with others every season, with various rewards that they can anticipate for their efforts. Indeed, Vicarious Visions made a great job in balancing modern features and nostalgia factor in creating the remake.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is available for pre-purchase now, with an option that allows you to buy it in a package with Diablo 3 and its expansions, in case you haven't played that yet.
