After 19 stellar seasons, Clippers forward Paul Pierce retired after the team's first-round exit. And while he retired with the Clippers, Pierce will forever be remembered as a member of the Celtics, where he helped lead the franchise to their 17th franchise championship in 2008.

Doc Rivers coached Pierce in Boston and L.A., so since he has such a special relationship with the former All-Star forward, the Clippers coach wanted to give him a gift on TNT's Area 21 on Monday.

Rivers giving Pierce a gift on national television sounds like a nice gesture but it was actually the opposite, as the Clippers coach decided to give his former player the joke gift of a wheelchair.

Rivers gave Pierce the wheelchair because during the 2008 Finals, the then Celtics All-Star had to be carted off the floor in Game 1 after he got injured. Pierce later returned but has always been made fun of for using a wheelchair when he likely didn't need one.

Pierce seemed to enjoy Rivers' gift and immediately sat in the wheelchair. But you have to hand it to Rivers, he knows the art of a great joke, which is likely why most of his players always speak highly of him.
