The Miami Dolphins are doing their due diligence on former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche to see if they want to bring him in. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have made some calls on the former first-round pick after he cleared waivers.

Nkemdiche is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in December, but the expectation is that he will be ready in September.

There are still some questions about where exactly Nkemdiche's head is. He was arrested twice this offseason and according to Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, was not in shape when he arrived to camp.

Nkemdiche also battled injuries throughout his time in Arizona and only appeared in 27 games over the last three seasons.

The good news for the former first-round pick is he is only 25 years old and there is no doubt a team is going to take another chance on him, but the big question is who?

If the Dolphins decide to make an offer to Nkemdiche, it would make a lot of sense for both sides to try and get a deal done. It would be a flier on who could be a big part of their future if his head on his shoulder and he stays healthy. With the Dolphins' roster, Nkemdiche would get a lot of playing time and it would give him a good chance that he is worth a long term contract with the Dolphins or somewhere else for the next year.
