As COVID-19 numbers continue to climb across the world and the US, the Duke Blue Devils have become the latest victim. Mike Krzyzewski's team has been forced to postpone their next two games against Clemson and Notre Dame due to positive cases within their program. Per Brendan Marks of The Athletic:

The No. 2 Blue Devils are cruising this season, posting an 11-1 record, and have won four straight. They've only played one conference game so far, though. It's unknown at this point how many members of the team have COVID-19, but according to the ACC's rules, you just need seven scholarship players and one coach available in order to suit up. Clearly, Duke doesn't even have that.

The new rules in the ACC also state that if a program can't find enough players, the game will be declared a no-contest, which means it wouldn't affect either team's records.

The NCAA doesn't regularly test for the virus either which has angered Krzyzewski, who believes that is a must in these trying times:

“This can get screwy quick. It's already is kind of screwy,” Coach K said. “I would personally like to go back, like last year, we wanted to make sure everyone that we played was tested. We don't have that mandate now.”

The Duke head coach definitely has a point. If they were testing on a consistent basis, it could definitely help. Let's hope the Blue Devils can get healthy quickly and return to the court.
