Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz spent the 2018 NFL season wearing a knee brace to help solidify some protection in that area. It appears the brace has come off during organized team activities.

Wentz has made some significant strides in his recovery this offseason after his season was cut short with a back injury. According to Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer, he is happy to rid himself of the knee brace:

“Ultimately, it was my decision. But talking through it with everybody, we just felt it was best going forward. Knee felt good, feels strong, and I feel better without it.”

This is certainly an intriguing development for Wentz and the Eagles. The fact that he was able to get clearance to go without the extra equipment means that he is likely much healthier than he was last season.

Of course, the knee brace hardly did him any favors after a back injury ended his 2018 campaign. Regardless, it is safe to say that he is optimistic about his health moving forward.

Wentz had once been dubbed as the most promising, young quarterback in the NFL. Much has changed after dealing with his fair share of injuries and watching back quarterback Nick Foles lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history. The jury is now out on whether or not he is capable of finishing the job on his own.

With Foles gone, Philadelphia no longer has a solid backup plan to rely on if Wentz were to get hurt again.
