It takes an extraordinary effort for any team to take down the New England Patriots. Unfortunately for Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles, their efforts to topple the Patriots fell short. They lost, 17-10.

Fans are frustrated with the way things are going and are demanding a better performance from the team. That's what Wentz promised the fans as he talked to the media after the game.

Wentz had a respectable game for himself. He finished with 214 passing yards and a single touchdown on 20 completed passes. While the superior Patriots defense managed to get to him a couple of times, he performed well enough to not fully take on the blame by himself.

It's just that the Patriots were simply outstanding on defense. They put enough pressure on Wentz after getting him sacked five times throughout the game. He also got hit 12 times as the Patriots made sure he felt the pressure from the defense. They also had eight pass deflections to go with their 61 total tackles.

Given those facts, the brunt of the blame will have to be shouldered by the Eagles offense. The Patriots didn't really look that strong of a team against them, but they weren't able to capitalize on the opportunities presented to them.

However, Wentz was also quick to defend his teammates. The 26-year-old pass-caller said that the Eagles have impressive players in spite of the poor showing they had against New England.

While they're playing very well in practice, it's their performances in games that actually matter. Carson Wentz and the Eagles know that they have to sort out their problems if they want to have a shot at winning another Super Bowl this year.
