Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre recently expressed his opinion on ā€œFirst Takeā€ regarding the quarterback situation in Philadelphia with Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz struggling as of late. Favre stirred the pot when he said that the team should've kept Nick Foles instead of Wentz mainly due to their productivity and the lengths that they were able to take the team, with Foles managing to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl LII win.

Once tagged as a franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz has been underwhelming playing under center for the Eagles this season. In addition to his individual woes, the Philly-based squad has been hit with several injuries to key players, making it harder to garner any momentum.

Despite having a depleted lineup, the Eagles managed to carve out wins against their struggling division rivals, with a heart-stopping 22-21 victory against the New York Giants followed by a 23-9 triumph against the Dallas Cowboys. Wentz really struggled in the win over Dallas.

Wentz is currently leading the entire NFL in interceptions with 12 through Week 9 of the season. Coincidentally, Favre also led the league in interceptions on three different occasions back in his time in Green Bay.

With many talking heads surrounding him, being able to come out with a respectable showing and successfully leading his team to the playoffs would do wonders for Carson Wentz as he hopes to keep his job with the Eagles for the seasons to come. Even though he and Philly have struggled this season, they remain on top of the woeful NFC East with a 3-4 record.
