Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz' playoff debut ended early after Jadeveon Clowney delivered a massive hit on Wentz, causing Went to leave the game with a concussion. Clowney was never penalized or fined for his hit on Wentz.

In a recent interview with the 94 WIP Morning Show, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman reflected on Clowney's hit.

“We thought that was a foul. We’re sick to our stomach about the way our season ended for our team and Carson in particular, but we’re not in a position to lose draft picks, dude. I can’t do that. I can’t do that. So you’re going to get me in a situation where I’m going to say something and I’m going to lose draft picks, we’re going to lose money, we’re going to get fined, I can’t do that. That doesn’t make sense either. Because it doesn’t put us back in time. I don’t have that Back to the Future time machine where I can go back in time and change it.”

It was a devasting loss for the Eagles organization because Wentz started all 16 regular season games and played phenomenally. It was also Wentz's first playoff game as he missed the last two postseasons due to injuries.

The Eagles were forced to play 18-year veteran Josh McCown at the quarterback position. However, he played well. McCown completed 75 percent of his passes for 174 yards, but the Eagles eventually lost 17-9 to the Seattle Seahawks.

Nonetheless, the Eagles are seeking to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season in 2020.
