The Philadelphia Eagles' remarkable journey to Super Bowl LII was riddled with key losses along the way. Among the most notable was that of left tackle Jason Peters, who was part of the rash of NFL stars whose 2017 NFL season was cut short by an ACL tear.

As a result, there is speculation as to whether he will be the starter moving forward. According to Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com, head coach Doug Pederson was adamant about Peters' retaining his role as the team's blind-side protector:

“This guy is a Pro Bowl left tackle,” Pederson said, via NJ.com. “Guys like that, in my humble opinion, they can go out whenever they want to go out. I respect him, and what he’s done, and how he’s working right now through injury. If you had to hold a gun to my head right now, I’d say ‘yeah, he’s my left tackle.'”

Marrone's comments should come as no surprise considering Peters has been arguably the best left tackle in football over the last decade. The nine-time Pro Bowler had been doing a stellar job up until his injury midway through the season.

As a result, there may be some worry as to how much longer Peters will be able to do the job. Left tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai managed to hold down the fort in his absence, and it goes without saying that his services would be much cheaper. That said, general manager Howie Roseman will once again have some big decisions to make this offseason.
