Running back Jordan Howard is relieved he's now with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Simply put, Howard is happy he doesn't have to face the Eagles anymore. Philadelphia's defense gave him fits during his first three NFL seasons, per Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper.

Howard said he was ‘definitely relieved' to get the news that the trade had finally been completed and that he'd known from his agent for some time that the Eagles were interested in acquiring him.

‘I pretty much knew that they were going to be my landing spot, just didn't know when. I was pretty excited,' Howard said.

The Chicago Bears traded Howard to the Eagles on March 28 for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020. He took to Twitter to thank Bears fans and the city of Chicago for their support.

Howard has run for 3,370 yards and 24 touchdowns on 778 carries in his first 47 NFL appearances. According to Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official website, Howard ranks third in the league in rushing since his rookie year in 2016.

This early in his pro football career, Howard already ranks seventh in Chicago's all-time rushing leaders list. It took him just 24 games to amass 2,000 career rushing yards. He did this faster than Hall-of-Fame Bears running backs Gayle Sayers and Walter Payton, per McPherson.

Howard's addition should help the Eagles, whose 1,570 rushing yards in 2018 placed them 28th in the NFL. He joins an Eagles running back core which includes Josh Adams, Boston Scott, and Wendell Smallwood. Howard should easily get the starting spot in the 2019 NFL season.

The Bears made the 24-year-old Howard the 150th overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Indiana University.
