The Philadelphia Eagles are several months removed from winning their first Super Bowl in franchise history, which boasted another level of confidence around the franchise.

According to Evan Macy of the Philly Voice, Pro Bowl offensive tackle Lane Johnson voiced that the feeling of winning the Super Bowl has gone away from him with the focus now shifting toward finding that same level of success in the 2018 campaign.

“It felt good for about a month and then the feeling goes away,” Johnson said. “It was shorter, usually you have four months to recover but I am happy to be back with the guys.”

The Eagles are bringing back much of the same core roster while adding a few more pieces to the team on both sides of the ball to help provide more stability. There are question marks surrounding the health of Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Wentz, who is recovering from a torn ACL and LCL, but the team still has Nick Foles in place that he could step in once again if need be.

This has still put forth the expectations that Philadelphia can make another deep playoff run toward repeating as Super Bowl champions. They have one of the most talented rosters in the league with proven talent across the board that has shown they can step up when it matters most in the playoffs.

For Johnson, the 2017 season was a huge redemption campaign after missing 10 games due to a performance-enhancing drug suspension as he earned a First-Team All-Pro selection and was selected to the Pro Bowl. The 2018 season presents another opportunity for him to build off last season's success toward being a stabilizing factor on the offensive line once again. What these comments from Johnson show are that the Eagles are poised to avoid any Super Bowl layover.
