Lane Johnson is one of few players left on the Philadelphia Eagles that was also a part of the 2018 Super Bowl championship team. The team's unbelievable journey throughout the playoffs earned them the title of the underdogs, which players took very seriously. Johnson and his former teammate Chris Long even started a trend by wearing dog masks following their mid-January playoff win against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Birds are underdogs once again as they prepare to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their Wild Card Weekend matchup. However, Johnson isn't taking that same “underdog mentality” energy into the playoffs, and he doesn't want his newer teammates to, either.

Johnson spoke with the media Thursday afternoon, just a few days after he had tweeted a GIF of him in his dog mask from 2018.

One reporter asked Johnson if the title was a major talking point within the Eagles' locker room ahead of their Wild Card game. Johnson said that the team is “not even really talking about it.” He said that “the big message is not becoming emotional with the game or where we're at…one day at a time.”

Johnson explained that he tweeted the GIF because he “thought it was funny.” As for the dog mask, he has no idea where it is. If the right tackle happens to find it somewhere in his basement before the game, don't be too surprised if he brings it to Tampa Bay and sticks it over his head if the Eagles pull off the upset.
