Nick Foles may have played his last game as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. However, teams that may be pursuing him this summer should take note of what he had to say following his team's loss to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this past weekend.

While Foles says the quarterback position is important, it's the relationships that a quarterback builds with everyone on the squad that makes for a strong team:

“Teams are going to build around the quarterback but as a quarterback, talking to the defense, getting to know your offense, getting to know special teams, talking to guys during the game, not making it about you, that’s something that’s so important, that’s something that resonates,” Foles said, via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. “That’s something that, when we’re down, the defense always knows when we get the ball back, ‘Hey, we’re going to go down and score.’ … The Chicago game, when we had the ball, the defense knew we were going to go down and score. That’s the belief this team has.”

Foles has a $20 million team option that the Eagles are expected to either decline, letting him walk in free agency. Philadelphia could also franchise tag Foles and then move him.

As much as Foles has done for the Eagles, it is blatantly obvious that they are rolling with Carson Wentz as their starting signal-caller moving forward. So unless Philadelphia wants to pay $20 million for a backup, Foles will likely be wearing a different jersey next season.
