The Philadelphia Eagles have had their fair share of struggles in the secondary to begin the season. Just in time for Week 7, Philadelphia has activated Jalen Mills from the physically unable to perform list per Adam Schefter.

Prior to the season, Mills was placed on the PUP list due to a foot injury that he sustained during the 2018 season. After undergoing months of rehab, the LSU product appears to be ready to make his season debut on Sunday.

Mills' return comes at a perfect time of the season. The Eagles are 3-3 and are heading into an NFC East battle with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Through the first six weeks of the season, Philadelphia has the 29th ranked pass defense in the NFL, allowing 280.2 yards per game.

Most recently, the Eagles were carved up by Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. Cousins threw for 333 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception in Minnesota's 38-20 blowout win over the Eagles.

With Mills returning, they are going to be getting a corner who has started in 25 games over the past three seasons. In those starts, he has totaled three interceptions and 30 pass deflections.

While Mills has missed time, the Eagles have been forced to rely on a mixture of mediocre cornerbacks. Up to this point, none of the guys who have played has shown enough to warrant them starting.

Aside from Mills, Philadelphia has had injuries to Ronald Darby and Cre'Von LeBlanc hinder their defense. Considering that the Eagles chose to not trade for Jalen Ramsey, there are heightened expectations for Mills.
