The 2019 NFL season officially came to an end for the Philadelphia Eagles with their loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Wild Card Game. They will now have to make some crucial decisions with their laundry list of unrestricted free agents and then there still is the question of tight end Zach Ertz's uncertain future.

Zach Ertz is reportedly looking for a raise now that the market for tight ends is set to see a major increase this offseason. According to Ed Kracz of Sports Illustrated, he is admittedly unsure about which direction this team plans on moving:

“There’s a lot of free agents on this football team,” Ertz said during the players’ locker room clean out on Monday. “I can only speak for myself and fact of the matter is that no one knows what’s going to happen, with me or with anyone. Probably the only one who knows for sure is (quarterback) Carson (Wentz). It’s been an incredible seven years for me here. I want to be here forever. I hope I’m able to be here forever.

Zach Ertz still has two years left on the extension he signed in the 2016 NFL season. Regardless, it is clear he is looking to get in on the action along with some of the other tight ends around the league.

There is no question that Zach Ertz has established himself as pone of the premier players at his position in recent years and solidified that notion with another strong outing by finishing the 2019 campaign with 88 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns.

Unfortunately, it remains to be seen if an increase in salary will be approved by general manager Howie Roseman since he has 14 unrestricted free agents to sift through in order to avoid too much roster turnover. The Eagles and Zach Ertz have many details to consider as they plot out their vision for 2020 and beyond.
