MI vs CSK, Wankhede Stadium. El Clásico of the IPL. Once again, Mumbai Indians will clash with Chennai Super Kings. Both the teams have suffered significant blows in the form of Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. However, MI looks more troubled with no SKY in the squad than CSK with no Jadeja.

SKY is MI's highest run-scorer, and he was the only consistent batter for MI this season. He suffered an injury in the match against Gujarat Titans.

Ravindra Jadeja suffered a bruised rib while fielding in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Dewald Brevis, Ramandeep Singh, and Tristan Stubbs are possible replacements for SKY. If an overseas player is picked as a replacement, one of the three overseas players has to go out. Pollard is tough to replace, and Meredith can be replaced by an Indian pacer Thampi. Tim David is performing well with the bat.

CSK has Conway, Dube, and Moeen as three left-handed batters in the top 5. It makes sense for MI to play with Hritik Shokeen instead of Murugan Ashwin, and he also provides a batting option in the lower order.

The absence of Jadeja means Santner will bowl his full quota of overs. He has some good matchups against Rohit Sharma, and it is very much possible that he will be bowling in the powerplay. Santner with Moeen Ali will be the X-Factors for MI. Ali has scored good runs against MI and picked nine wickets with an economy rate of just 7.00.

Probable Playing 11:

The absence of Suryakumar Yadav will weaken the batting of MI because he was the only dependable batter in form.

MI: I Kishan (WK), R Sharma (C), D Brevis/T Stubbs/R Singh, T Varma, T David, K Pollard, M Ashwin/H Shokeen, J Bumrah, D Sams, R Meredith, K Kartikeya

It is probably good for Ravindra Jadeja to miss out rest of the IPL, and he will get some rest and prepare for the upcoming international series.
