Even after quite a hectic 2022 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons are not done yet in bolstering their depth on the defensive side of the ball.

As noted by the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Falcons are signing former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski to a one-year contract deal.

Kwiatkoski had his fair share of options for his next move in the NFL. The veteran linebacker took a visit with his former team in the Raiders earlier in the week, which came after he touched base with Falcons team officials last week. In the end, he has opted to reunite with Falcons senior executive Ryan Pace, who drafted him during his run as Chicago Bears general manager.

Kwiatkoski is coming off of a roller-coaster run with the Raiders. He signed off on a three-year, $21 million deal with Raiders team officials in 2020. He went on to play in 12 games over the 2020 campaign, where he wound up posting a career-high in total tackles with 81.

An ankle injury marred Kwiatkoski's 2021 season, as he featured in a mere eight games in the campaign. Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler elected to release the versatile linebacker in March.

Kwiatkoski joins a Falcons linebacker unit that has undergone plenty of changes over the past months. The team watched as Foyesade Oluokun signed a three-year agreement with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March, although it responded by signing Rashaan Evans to a free agent deal and drafting former Montana State standout Troy Anderson in the second round of last month’s draft.

Overall, Kwiatkoski is the latest former Bears player who has reunited with Pace, joining the likes of Germain Ifedi and Teez Tabor.
